Darrell Wade appointed TGI Friday’s chief operating officer: Darrell Wade has been appointed TGI Friday’s chief operating officer “in recognition of the enormous success of the TGI Friday’s UK commercial department over the past five years”. The appointment will support the next wave of business growth by aligning the operations team with the brand and concept team in order to deliver the ambitious growth plan set out for Friday’s over the coming years. Meanwhile, Cain Savizzi takes on the role of senior director of operations. Cain will be supported by Lee Zurybida, who is promoted to operations service manager for the brand. In addition, Terry McDowell, who has recently overseen many successful product launches for Friday’s, has taken on the role of head chef and concept development manager. UK managing director Karen Forrester said: “Friday’s is leading the industry with several new restaurants in the pipeline, brilliant business performance and several awards, including our recent third place finish in Sunday Times Best Places to Work. These feats don’t happen by accident – they come about through dedication, hard work and passion from individuals over a number of years. These individuals come together to form an unstoppable team. Darrell, Cain, Terry and Lee have all been key parts of the journey we have been on and it is wonderful to be able to recognise this with their new appointments.” Wade said: “I’m relishing taking on this new role and look forward to continuing to work with the rest of the board, and our thousands of team members across the country, in driving the growth and development of Friday’s and ensuring operational excellence for all of our guests. It’s a phenomenally exciting time to be the chief operating officer of Friday’s and I’m looking forward to the challenge.” TGI Friday’s has 56 restaurants across the UK in a range of locations.
