Luminar Group restructures senior management team: The nightclub operator Luminar has re-organised its regions and management structure. From April, the company will redefine its five regions – North, Midlands, South, South West and East & Scotland – to a new regional structure of North & Scotland (ten sites from Aberdeen to Oldham), Midlands (13 sites from Wrexham to Cambridge and Norwich), East (14 sites from Luton to Ipswich and Ashford), South West (eight sites from Gloucester to Plymouth and Swansea) and South (14 sites from Windsor to Bournemouth and Eastbourne). As a result, Trevor Ellard, regional director for the South West, and Mark Molton, regional director for the Midlands, will be leaving the company on 1 March. Russell Quelch, who was voted Luminar’s general manager of the year in 2014, will be promoted to the role of regional director for the South. He will be joined in April by Brett Collier from Intertain, who will cover the North & Scotland. The Luminar Group’s chief executive, Peter Marks, said: “Following a period of sustained growth, we felt that the time was right to look at the shape of our estate and the experience of our senior team. Both Trevor and Mark have made a strong contribution to the business and they leave with our best wishes for the future. We’re committed to developing our people from within and it’s great to see Russell’s potential being recognised with this promotion from his current role as general manager of Oceana Southampton. We’re also delighted to welcome Brett to the team, who will bring a fresh perspective to the business.” The restructure comes after the appointment of a new operations director, Jason Thorndycroft, who joined Luminar in October. His remit is to work with the senior management team to drive profitability across the company’s late-night estate.
