SSP to open first Jamie's Italian in France in €180m Nice Airport deal: SSP is to open the first Jamie's Italian in France, as part of an 11-year, €180m deal to run ten outlets at Nice Airport. Among the other new outlets are a restaurant called L’Estivale, created in partnership with two-Michelin starred chef Mauro Colagreco, a branch of Joe and the Juice, which has 79 outlets across northern Europe, including six in the UK, and a branch of the Nice restaurant Chez Pipo. The deal will see SSP taking over the operation of two units in Nice's Terminal 1 from this month, and additional outlets in Terminal 1 during the course of 2015 and Terminal 2 in 2017. Gérard d'Onofrio, managing director of SSP France, Belgium, Netherlands, said: “Nice Côte d’Azur airport has ambitions to become one of the major platforms in south Europe. Following the successful development of our business at Nantes and Bordeaux airports, this new business represents another major step in the airport sector for SSP France, and secures our position as the leader in the French market.” The Jamie’s Italian at Nice airport will be designed with three distinct zones, a table-service restaurant, a bar and a "grab and go" area. There will also be a coffee offer landside. The chain currently has 35 outlets in the UK, and others in Australia, Russia, Singapore, Dubai, Hong Kong and Turkey, with further openings abroad planned for the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Canada and New Zealand.
