Tue 17th Feb 2015 - Exclusive – Snug takes on new Ware site Snug takes on new Ware site: The Snug, the St Albans-based neighbourhood all-day kitchen and bar operator, has acquired its seventh outlet, in Ware High Street, Hertfordshire. The new site gives The Snug a presence in four key towns in Hertfordshire, including Hitchin  and Hertford, and comes as the company prepares to celebrate its 10th anniversary next month. The leasehold on the premises, owned by Enterprise Inns and currently trading as the Vine pub, is being taken over by The Snug from 2 March. The premises, which date back to at least 1507, when they were the Bell pub, have room for 100 covers throughout the bar and restaurant space. The Snug, Ware will open as a "pop up" format on Friday 6 March from 5pm and begin to trade with regular snug features such as happy hour two-for-one cocktails, a lunch menu for only £5.95 from Monday to Friday and the Sunday Chill Day two-for-one offer on cocktail favourites all day. The official launch will take place mid-spring, after a full makeover of the site to tie in with the branding of The Snug’s other six venues. Giles Fry, owner of The Snug, said: "We are really excited to launch our seventh site for The Snug in Ware. We hope to provide a warm, inviting and up-to-the-minute venue, which locals and visitors alike can enjoy."
