Ex-Sawday editor launches Innplaces.co.uk: A new accommodation booking website, InnPlaces.co.uk, that showcases pubs with quality rooms has been launched by David Hancock, the past editor of Sawday Pubs & Inns and AA Room at the Inn. The website, which has won investment from a number of senior industry entrepreneurs, launches with 73 inns, who have been invited to join whilst still being inspected by the Inn Places team of travel and food writers. Within its remit of a top quality offering, Inn Places has plans to increase its membership over the coming months. Pubs featured on the site include Great British Menu 2014 winner Emily Watkins’ pub the Kingham Plough in Kingham, Oxfordshire, Michelin-starred pubs the Pipe & Glass in East Beverley, Yorkshire, The Star at Harome, North Yorkshire and the Red Lion, East Chisenbury, Wiltshire, and Michelin’s Pub of the Year 2014 the Greyhound on the Test, Hampshire. The site is aimed at discerning consumers who regularly seek the quality of a boutique hotel but prefer the informality and originality of a country inn including urban escapees, silvers surfers, families, business people and tourists. InnPlaces.co.uk also has a strong food focus, with a unique Food Trail from each inn, which takes in other quality food pubs, restaurants, cafés, deli’s, farm shops and local producers, including those that supply to the inn, within a 30-mile radius. Detailed ‘Out and About’ information is also provided. InnPlaces.co.uk is the result of Hancock’s 25 years of experience in travel guide publishing. His team of inspectors includes Andrew Turvill, former editor of the Good Food Guide, AA Restaurant Guide and Which Pub Guides, and Sunday Times Travel writer Vincent Crump. Hancock said: “Britain’s top pubs with rooms now offer an increasingly discerning public a stylish alternative to a faceless, budget travel inn, a faded town-centre hotel, or a large, impersonal and often expensive country-house hotel. My team of experienced food writers and travel journalists create a wealth of rich, up-to-date, and compelling content that genuinely inspires guests to book their stay at your pub.” Customers booking through InnPlaces.co.uk will often also get an ‘Inn Places Perk’ from pub owners such as a room upgrade if available, afternoon tea on arrival, pre-dinner cocktails, a gin flight or bottle of prosecco. Pub owners whose inns are featured on the website pay an annual membership fee and a commission percentage to Inn Places for each booking. For more information email david@innplaces.co.uk
