Britvic hires two non-executive directors, Bob Ivell to step down: Britvic has announced the appointment of Euan Sutherland and Sue Clark as independent non-executive directors of the company with effect from 29 February 2016. Sutherland will also serve on Britvic’s Audit Committee, and Clarkon the Remuneration Committee. Bob Ivell will step down from the Board at the same date. Sutherland is currently group chief executive of SuperGroup and was previously group chief executive for the Co-op group of companies. Earlier in his career he was group chief operating officer at Kingfisher, chief executive of B&Q and chief executive of AS Watson UK, owner of Superdrug. He has over 22 years’ experience within the retail and FMCG sectors having held roles with Boots, Dixons, Coca-Cola and Mars. Clark is currently managing director of SABMiller Europe and is an executive committee member of the global brewer SABMiller plc. She joined SABMiller in 2003 as corporate affairs director and was part of the executive team that built the business into a top five FTSE company. Before this, she held a number of senior roles in UK companies, including that of director of corporate affairs for Railtrack Group and Scottish Power. Commenting on the appointments, Gerald Corbett, chairman, said: “We are delighted to welcome Euan and Sue to the board. Euan brings strong retail sector knowledge and general management and marketing experience. Sue has headed up corporate affairs at a number of large British companies and her latter experience running SABMiller Europe places her in a unique position to contribute to the development of Britvic. They are both strong additions to the Britvic Board as we look to continue to develop our business in the UK and internationally. I would also like to pay tribute to Bob Ivell. Bob has been our senior independent director since we floated over ten years ago and has chaired our Remuneration Committee for the last eight years. We will miss his wise counsel and wish him well in the future.”
Harry Ramsden’s to open two sites this month: Harry Ramsden’s has lined up two more openings. The brand’s first opening of 2016 is in Market Street in Newmarket. Bringing 15 full and part time jobs to the area, the new 1,500 square foot outlet, which opened today (Monday 8 February) offers customers the opportunity to take-away as well as sit in, with the new restaurant providing internal and external seating for 50 diners. Later this month at Kings Parade, Marine Point in New Brighton the brand will unveil a 1,750 square foot restaurant with seating for 60 diners. The outlet, which opens on Tuesday 23 February, will create 20 full and part time jobs for the area.
