Thu 18th Feb 2016 - Carlsberg appoints new UK chief executive Carlsberg appoints new UK chief executive: Carlsberg has appointed Julian Momen as the new chief executive of its UK business. Momen has been chief financial officer for Carlsberg UK since September 2012 and has played a key role in the development of its new strategy. With 30 years’ experience in the food and drinks industry; over half of which was spent with Diageo, followed by time at General Mills, RHM Adelie and now Carlsberg, Momen will continue to implement the transformation changes introduced by interim chief executive Michiel J Herkemij. Having introduced a new direction for the Carlsberg UK business, Herkemij will now become senior vice-president for the Western Europe region and become a member of Carlsberg’s executive committee, succeeding Jørn Tolstrup Rohde. Herkemij brings extensive international experience from leading companies across Europe, Asia, Africa and the American region. He initiated a transformation process in October 2015, with the introduction of a new strategy working very closely with Momen. Momen’s appointment as UK chief executive ensures continuity in the implementation of the new strategy. Both men will continue to work together closely as Herkemij remains responsible for Carlsberg UK in his new role. Carlsberg chief executive Cees ‘t Hart said: “We wish Michiel Herkemij and Julian Momen all the best and every success for their new, challenging assignments, and would like to thank them for their great engagement and achievements in their current roles.
