BrewDog’s US crowdfunding campaign raises $1m within first three days: BrewDog’s US crowdfunding campaign has raised $1m within the first three days. The company is aiming to raise $50m by selling 1,052,632 shares of stock in BrewDog USA for £47.50 per share – the minimum investment is two shares ($95 each). The company stated: “This unprecedented response to our first crowdfunding round in the States shows the demand for our beer in America, and sets us up with a community of like-minded individuals ready and waiting to help us make our US business an explosive success. Our new generation transatlantic business model combines our passion with the most dynamic market for craft beer on earth, with the bottom line being our shared desire to change a world still dominated by bland industrial beer. Already with Equity for Punks USA, more than 1,200 people have gained the chance to help shape the future of our company! As well as acquiring an equity stake in our business you will also then gain a selection of incredible benefits that include lifetime discounts in our bars (worldwide) and our merch-toting BrewDog USA online store, plus a behind the scenes tour of our Columbus and Ellon brewhouses, should you find yourselves in either of those parts of the world. Oh, and also an invite to the soon-to-be-legendary BrewDog AGM USA. With Equity for Punks USA we are determined to keep the passion and integrity in the beer glass and put the people who really care in control. From the moment it launched, our group of fans in the US (and around the world) has become a community, and we cannot wait to take everyone on a madcap whirlwind journey as we all help BrewDog grow together.” The company states in its prospectus: “We own an amazing 42 acre site just ten miles from downtown Columbus, and the initial 100,000 square foot brewery will also feature a restaurant, tap room, retail space, visitor centre and beer garden. The building is due to be completed in summer 2016 and the first brew is scheduled for November. Everything about the brewery is set up for rapid growth. The initial 170-barrel brewhouse can support an annual capacity of 640,000 barrels and we will initially have fermentation capacity for 85,000 barrels. The site is primed for the future in terms of space, transport links, utilities, infrastructure and brewing equipment. Long term, the site we have in Columbus can support an annual capacity in excess of 1.5m barrels.”
