One hundred Stonegate managers descend on the House of Commons: One hundred of Stonegate Pub Company’s most promising managers will descend on the House of Commons today (7 September) in a celebration of 100 managers graduating the company’s award-winning Accelerator programme. To mark the milestone, 64 MPs will join general managers from their constituency, congratulating them on completing the extensive management-training programme. Since its launch in 2013, 104 ‘Accelerator’ graduates have progressed from deputy to general manager, and a further five into key head office roles. Chief executive Simon Longbottom said: “People are at the heart of everything we do. We are firmly committed to the principle that our people should be able to progress from the bar to the boardroom. We are delighted to able to recognise the achievements of our Accelerator graduates; reaching our 100th milestone is a really proud moment for Stonegate. It is also a fantastic opportunity to reinforce to MPs the vital role that our company and the wider pub and bar sector play in providing jobs and careers, with arguably the most realistic prospect of going from the bottom rung right to the very top.” The Accelerator programme is part of Stonegate’s three times award-winning ‘Albert’s Theory of Progression’ suite of training programmes. It develops and coaches hand-chosen deputy managers who have the potential to develop to the next step in their career.
