Camden Town to launch £30m brewery in Enfield in July: Craft beer maker Camden Town Brewery is to open its £30m brewing facility in Enfield on Saturday, 8 July. The company said the 50,000 square foot site would be the largest investment in London’s brewing industry for three decades and enable the company to keep up with increasing demand for its beers. The brewhouse will have capacity to scale production to 400,000HL a year, with production of all Camden Town Brewery’s core beers moving from the company’s current home in Kentish Town to Enfield. The brewing team will increase by 50%. The brewery in Ponder’s End will also be used as a test site for innovation, specials and collaboration beers, plus public tours, a beer school and bar. The development is entirely carbon-neutral and features solar panels and an energy-efficient brewing system. Camden Town Brewery founder and chief executive Jasper Cuppaidge said: “The railway arches in Kentish Town will remain the heart and soul of Camden Town Brewery but our expansion to Enfield allows us to increase our capacity so we can bring great beer to more people. It’s a phenomenal opportunity to extend into another north London community and be part of the impressive redevelopment that’s taking place in Enfield.” Cllr Alan Sitkin, cabinet member for economic development at the London Borough of Enfield, added: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Camden Town Brewery to Enfield. The brewer has proved its devotion to serving great beer to consumers and the wider community. We’re thrilled this huge investment will help return Enfield to its former glory in industry.” Camden Town Brewery was bought by Anheuser-Busch InBev at the end of 2015 for £85m.
