Be At One hits productivity milestone as revenue per labour hour exceeds £50, outperforming industry by 52.5%: Be At One, the specialist cocktail bar group, has broken through a key labour productivity milestone with revenue per labour hour now exceeding £50. Across the group’s 33 bars, the key business metric now stands at an average of £51.87. The figure represents how much revenue is taken by the company for every hour worked in-venue by a Be At One bartender. The figure represents a 52.5% outperformance of the UK hospitality industry average of £34.01 as identified by recent analysis by Fourth of the hourly pay of thousands of workers across the sector, and a 69% increase on the restaurant sector average of £30.65. A lack of productivity is seen as a problem for the modern British economy. The amount the UK produces per person, per hour, has been stagnant for some time and compares unfavourably with international competitors such as Germany and the US. Be At One chief operating officer Andrew Stones said: “That we are now generating in excess of £50 in revenue per labour hour across the group demonstrates the strength of our business model and the amount of revenue each Be At One colleague generates. It is further testament to the consistently high performance of our hard-working and engaged team. With productivity falling across the wider hospitality sector, we are obviously delighted to have pushed forward in this way as it is a key financial metric for the business. We believe this performance is down to a combination of award-winning drinks and our market-leading staff training and development, which is the platform for delivering Be At One’s unique experience we know our customers love and which keeps us at the forefront of the specialist cocktail bar market.” Be At One operates 33 bars across the UK, including 17 in London. Its first bar opened in Battersea in 1998.
