JKS Restaurants to relaunch Arcade Food Theatre with new operators: JKS Restaurants, led by Karam, Jyotin and Sunaina Sethi, is to relaunch the Arcade Food Theatre in London, as the Arcade Food Hall, complete with new operators – as the company looks to “create a venue that hosts a breadth of creative new brands as well as fostering up-and-coming talent within the hospitality industry”. The new venture, which will open this November at Centre Point near Tottenham Court Road, will feature eight new kitchens, an independent restaurant on the mezzanine level, a counter dining experience as well as a stand-alone bar and outdoor dining. JKS said the venue would be the first to showcase the company’s philosophy of creating multiple unique brands and championing emerging food and drink talent under one roof. The JKS portfolio includes delivery brand Motu, Taiwanese cult brand Bao, Iranian-influenced Berenjak, the Michelin-starred Lyle’s and Sabor, and the Sri Lankan and South Indian-inspired Hoppers. It said the cuisines found at Arcade Food Hall will “travel around the world, exploring regional Thai curries, Indonesian street food, North Indian fast food, Spanish tapas, Middle Eastern shawarma, Japanese sushi and American-style burgers”, suggesting it may also tap into some of its existing portfolio alongside supporting new concepts under an incubator-type scheme. Further details on who will be operating at the new venture will be announced in September. Alongside the kitchens and restaurants, there will also be a daily provisions counter serving coffee, lunchtime sandwiches and pastries, and a “sensual and luxurious dessert experience from the UK’s most exciting confectionery connoisseurs”. JKS said the venue would also showcase a new style in service experience where all food and drink can be ordered direct to guests’ tables from the different Arcade kitchens. This service will also be replicated into a unique digital food hall, where customers can choose dishes from the different Arcade kitchens to collect in one order. JKS Restaurants chief executive Jyotin Sethi said: “We’re delighted to finally reveal the new Arcade at Centre Point. We’ve always had the aspiration to create a venue that hosts a breadth of creative new brands as well as fostering up-and-coming talent within the hospitality industry. Arcade is the perfect space for us to do this, both with the physical site and through London’s first digital food hall.” The Arcade Food Theatre opened at the then newly redeveloped Centre Point in the middle of 2019. It originally housed concepts including TāTā Eatery’s Tōu, a sando specialist; Pophams Bakery; Lina Stores; Oklava, the celebrated modern Turkish restaurant; and the Flat Iron Workshop.
