England international cricketers invest in Sixes: 4CAST Investment Group, which includes England international cricketers Ben Stokes, Stuart Broad and Jofra Archer, has invested in Sixes, the cricket-based competitive socialising concept from the founders of Mac & Wild. Ahead of its US debut and expansion, the immersive cricket concept has secured an undisclosed investment from 4CAST, which also includes the likes of Indian cricketer KL Rahul and England one-day player Jason Roy. Created by Calum Mackinnon and Andy Waugh, Sixes opened its inaugural site in Fulham in December 2020. There are now four sites across London, plus further locations in Manchester, Birmingham and Leicester. Upcoming openings are also confirmed for Brighton – where it is taking over the current on-site restaurant space at Brighton i360 – and in Grandscape, a shopping and entertainment destination in Dallas, Texas, which marks Sixes’ first international site, opening on Saturday, 17 June. In April, Michael Hay, international head of marketing at Sixes, told Propel the business had “big plans” in the States and was “looking at 100 sites across the US, comprising a combination of operated/company-owned and franchised openings”. Broad said: “We are delighted to announce our partnership with Sixes. As one of our early investments, we believe Sixes is a fantastic concept that brings new experiences and innovations to cricket, whilst attracting new people to the sport. We are all excited to be part of its growth and development, particularly with the launch in the USA this June.” Mackinnon added: “One of our founding beliefs at Sixes is that sport and hospitality hold an unrivalled ability to unite and connect people for good, and good times are shared. We look forward to sharing and building this next phase of the Sixes journey with 4CAST and their athletes.” Sixes and 4CAST said they would be developing new game modes for guests as part of the partnership, including the 4CAST bowling attack where players can test their skills against the likes of Archer and Broad. 4CAST is described as the “first athlete-led entrepreneurial collective of its kind”. 4CAST director Ruari Bell said: "Since its establishment in 2021, our organisation has provided a corporate avenue for internationally acclaimed athletes to venture into business and investment opportunities alongside their high sporting careers.” Since its launch, Sixes has been backed by several former professional cricket players, including ex-England captain Sir Andrew Strauss, and Promethean Investments.
