Mon 5th Aug 2024 - Roxy Leisure rebrands and launches new family-friendly concept, restructures management team
Roxy Leisure rebrands and launches new family-friendly concept, restructures management team: Roxy Leisure Holdings – the operator of Roxy Lanes, Roxy Ball Room and King Pins – has rebranded and launched a new family-friendly concept, as well as restructuring its management team. The business has changed its name to Professionals at Play, creating a group brand for its competitive socialising operators, Roxy Leisure and Pins Leisure. Founded by brothers Matt and Ben Jones, Roxy Leisure and Pins Leisure comprise the Roxy Ball Room, Roxy Lanes and King Pins brands, as well as new family-focused brand Star Pins, due to be launched later this year. The first Star Pins venue is due to open in Coventry in November, offering ten pin bowling, mini golf, darts, shuffleboard, ice-free curling, American pool, shooting and ping pong. The 32,000 square-foot site will also include an arcade and full food and drink offer, featuring a desserts emporium. The rebrand to Professionals at Play has also been bolstered by a management restructure, with Colin Sadler promoted to group chief operating officer. The former managing director of Pins Leisure, Sadler joined the business in 2023, leading on the expansion of the King Pins brand, which now operates across two sites in Manchester, with several more in the pipeline. He will oversee group operations, commercial, marketing and the people teams during the next phase of growth. Further group-wide appointments see Ben Warren become commercial director, Adam Lazenby step up as head of people operations and Joel Mitchell take on the role of marketing director. The company said the rebrand to Professionals of Play reflects both the growth and the diversification of brands it operates under. It currently has a total 21 sites across 12 cities, and alongside the Coventry launch, has further sites planned within the next 12 months in Bristol, Glasgow, Belfast, Leeds and London. Chief executive Matt Jones said: “We are really proud of our growth so far and see the launch of Professionals At Play as the next step in this journey. We have a hugely talented team who are instrumental in creating, rolling out and running our concepts. Our new parent company name gives our brands a clear home along with a base for creating more exciting offers and concepts.” A new report produced by Propel on the fast-growing experiential leisure sector was released on Thursday (1 August).
