Exclusive – JKS Restaurants to debut in US this autumn: JKS Restaurants is set to launch two of its Indian brands to the US, with the opening of Ambassadors Clubhouse in New York, followed by Gymkhana in Las Vegas. This autumn, the first US location of Ambassadors Clubhouse will open at 1245 Broadway, bringing the brand to Manhattan’s NoMad neighbourhood. The New York location comes one year after Ambassadors Clubhouse first opened in London, in August 2024, and is named after the Sethis’ grandfather, a former Indian ambassador. As with the London restaurant, the menu will take its cue from Punjab’s opulent royal kitchens alongside street and roadside eateries. The cocktail programme will centre on tequila and mezcal blended with regional ingredients; including large-format cocktails designed for tables to share, playful shots, and interactive service. This winter, JKS will also launch its second US Indian restaurant with the opening of Gymkhana at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Inspired by the private clubs of India – “where high society gathers to dine, drink, socialise, and play sport”. Gymkhana's cuisine takes influence from the breadth of India The Las Vegas menu will feature many of Gymkhana London's signature dishes, broadly focusing on tandoori-grilled specialities, classic curries, biryani and chaat-style sharing plates. Alongside the signature offering, there will be new dishes exclusive to the Las Vegas location. The restaurant’s bar will feature Indian-inspired cocktails, including regional punches served tableside, and an extensive gin and tonic selection, drawing on the cocktail heritage of 42, the intimate lounge above Gymkhana London. Following the opening of the Las Vegas restaurant, JKS will also launch Gymkhana Fine Foods in the US – the premium range of at-home Indian cooking sauces and marinades crafted by the same chefs and using the same recipes behind the two Michelin-starred restaurant experience. Since its UK debut, the brand has redefined the category to become the top-selling Indian sauce in leading retailers. Gymkhana in Las Vegas and Ambassadors Clubhouse in New York mark the group’s first steps to bringing its Indian restaurants into the US market. With a presence already established in the Middle East, JKS said it aims to continue growing across both regions and explore opportunities in other international markets over the coming years. On launching in the US, Karam Sethi said: “Expanding to the US marks a significant milestone for us at JKS. We have had our sights set on the US for the last ten years – wanting to make our entry with the right brands, in the right cities, at the right moment. With Gymkhana and Ambassadors Clubhouse, we’re proud to introduce two very personal projects to a new audience. As interest in Indian food and culture continues to grow globally, we’re excited to contribute to that momentum by championing the depth and diversity of regional Indian cuisine.” JKS features in the Propel Turnover & Profits Blue Book, the next edition of which will be sent to Premium Club subscribers on Friday (8 August) and feature 1,151 companies. JKS’ turnover of £73,658,364 for the 65 weeks to 31 March 2024 is the 164th highest in the database. A Premium Club subscription costs an annual sum of £495 plus VAT for operators and £595 plus VAT for suppliers. Companies can now have an unlimited number of people receive access to Premium Club for a year for £995 plus VAT – whether they are an operator or supplier.
