Morning Briefing for pub, restaurant and food wervice operators

Wed 24th Sep 2025 - Prezzo Italian rebrands as Brava Hospitality Group
Prezzo Italian rebrands as Brava Hospitality Group: Prezzo Italian is rebranding as Brava Hospitality Group to reflect its transition from a single-brand operator to a broader platform designed to manage and grow multiple brands across the UK. The group has been created to be “the home of great restaurant brands” – reflecting its ambition to deliver exceptional guest experiences built on three core beliefs: great food, great environments and excellent service. James Brown, chief executive of Brava Hospitality Group, said: “As we look to the future, we knew it was time for a new group identity – one that reflects our ambition and gives us the foundation to grow. Brava is about ‘hospitality with heart’ – and building a portfolio of distinctive brands that people love. That started with Prezzo Italian.” Prezzo Italian, the group’s flagship brand, underwent its own transformation in April 2025, evolving from Prezzo as part of a wider brand refresh. Central to this new era is Prezzo Italian’s commitment to deliver Italian favourites at an accessible price point, with a focus on “better food, better service, better experience, better marketing and better restaurant design” as part of its new brand DNA – “Better Italian for Everyone”. The Prezzo Italian transformation was led by Brown, the former chief executive of Scottish brewer and retailer BrewDog’s bars division, who joined Prezzo Italian in November last year to build on the brand’s foundation and secure lasting success. Since this, the brand has seen a strong business performance, with like-for-like sales growing 11% in the third quarter and the six refurbished restaurants delivering an average of 50% growth compared with the prior year. Having had a presence on the high street for 25 years, Prezzo Italian will remain a key focus for the group. Alongside leading asset management firm Cain International, Brown and the wider team at Brava Hospitality Group will continue to drive forward plans to refurbish 12 Prezzo Italian locations by the end of the year. A further 40 are also planned for 2025. Brown said: “Now we have announced this new step, we are looking forward to being able to share further details in the coming months and announce other restaurant brands joining the Brava Hospitality Group portfolio alongside Prezzo Italian. With every brand that joins us, two things remain the same – our commitment to sustainable high-quality growth, and to preserving the heart of hospitality across every concept we bring to life.” A number of restaurants brands will also be joining the Brava Hospitality Group portfolio, which is set to be made up of a mix of new concepts, as well as existing brands. At the Propel Multi-Club Conference earlier this month, Brown said the business was working on a second brand that “you will probably see next year”, had secured a new flagship site in London and was again exploring a quick service restaurant format (QSR). Brown said: “Previously, we’d played with a kind of QSR pasta brand. I have picked that back up. I am playing with it, with no desire to definitely do it next year. But if we play with something and we quite like it, and we think consumers are going to like it, we might do that as well. It won’t be called Prezzo Italian Pronto – it’s got a P in it, but it’s not called Prezzo. People talk about portfolio plays, and we will end up becoming a portfolio business. One of the things I’ve got to think about is what do we call the company? Because we can’t be called Prezzo and have other brands underneath us.” Brown was among the speakers at the Propel Multi-Club Conference. All videos from the conference were released to Premium subscribers on Friday (19 September). Premium subscribers receive all the videos from Propel conferences each year – around 100 in total. A Premium Club subscription costs an annual sum of £495 plus VAT for operators and £595 plus VAT for suppliers. Companies can now have an unlimited number of people receive access to Premium Club for a year for £995 plus VAT – whether they are an operator or supplier.
